About
the eyes behind the camera:
I chose to call my gig “rose glass photography” because I realized that I only saw myself as beautiful through the selfies I would post on social media. In the mirror… I could not even recognize myself. I once explained to someone that I could only see myself as beautiful through edited, rose-colored glasses because I couldn’t recognize myself in comparison to the photographs I took.
One of the things I loved to photograph was abandoned buildings and pictures of myself experiencing strong emotions. Both of these had a story that at the time could not be told. I have always struggled expressing myself (how I feel) and felt that by snapping a picture I could turn my overwhelming emotion into art and let the photo… or editing speak for me. An abandoned building felt the same – no one could tell its story… so I let the picture speak for itself and let you interpret it.
I hope you enjoy my work as it is an expression of what I hope to speak for you, especially if you can not for yourself. I love to capture beauty in all areas – easily interpreted or not.
